Renew Birmingham Presents Cookout and Car Show – A Community Awareness Program

Get ready, Ensley! The engines are revving, the grills are heating up, and the community is coming together for one of the most anticipated neighborhood events of the summer. Renew Birmingham, in partnership with the Ensley Business Alliance and the City of Birmingham, invites residents from across the city to the 2nd Annual Cookout & Car Show on Saturday, August 9 from 3 to 7 PM at Downtown Ensley (Across from Cottons).

This FREE community event brings together fun, fellowship, and valuable resources in one unforgettable afternoon. More than just an event, the Cookout & Car Show is part of a broader community awareness effort, highlighting services and organizations that help strengthen Birmingham’s neighborhoods.

Here’s What’s in Store:

🚗 Car Show

  • Admire 60+ stunning classic, custom, and modern rides
  • Vote in fan-favorite competitions including Best Vintage, Coolest Customization, and People’s Choice

🍔 Cookout

  • Enjoy mouthwatering, complimentary food for all registered guests
  • $500 giveaway

🎶 Live Entertainment

  • Performances by Big Ro Williams, Alvin Garrett, and Deidre Gaddis with Prodigy
  • V94.9’s own Big Ro Williams will serve as MC for the day

🎈 Kid Zone

  • Bounce houses, face painting, and games for the little ones in a safe, supervised space

🤝 Community Resource Booths

  • Connect with local nonprofits and community partners offering health, housing, education, and employment services
